
Marcus Sanborn focuses his practice on construction and business litigation, contract drafting, and claims management. For more than two decades, he has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals in complex public and private construction projects across the country. His experience includes prosecuting and defending claims involving delay damages, differing site conditions, change directives, design errors and omissions, and contract interpretation.
In addition to his construction practice, Marcus has extensive experience in business disputes ranging from multi-district product liability class actions to insurance and broker liability claims. He has served as trial counsel in numerous multi-million-dollar disputes that have proceeded to arbitration or trial, earning recognition from Michigan Lawyers Weekly and selection to Super Lawyers® as a “Top Rated Construction Litigation Attorney.”
Marcus is known for his pragmatic approach to dispute resolution and his ability to effectively advocate for clients in high-stakes matters against some of the largest law firms in the state and nation.

Prior Experience
Before co-founding BSJZ Law, Marcus practiced at leading construction and commercial litigation firms in Michigan and Minnesota, where he represented clients in complex construction, insurance, and business disputes. His early career included serving as an associate at Larson King LLP in St. Paul and McAlpine PC in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where he gained extensive experience handling construction claims, product liability actions, and multi-party litigation.
Marcus also clerked with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri and served as a summer associate with Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago, experiences that provided valuable insight into federal litigation and complex commercial matters.
